Hello,
I am a flex developer, and I'm trying to install Apache Flex SDK 4.14.0 to work with on my computer along with eclipse (on windows 8).
I am following the instructions here: http://apache.mivzakim.net/flex/4.14.0/README , and under the "SOFTWARE" part, in number * 4, I am instructed to install the Adobe Flash Player Content Debugger.
I need the developer's debugger version of flash player, so I downloaded it from here: Adobe Flash Player - Downloads under "Download the Flash Player content debugger for Internet Explorer - ActiveX".
When I double clicked on the received file I got this message: "Your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser includes the latest version of Adobe Flash Player built-in. Windows Update will inform you when new versions of the Flash Player are available."

I understood that Flash Player Content Debugger won't install since I already have a version of Flash Player.
(that already happened for me once in a different computer with windows 7, and then what I did was to uninstall the flash player and then install the content debugger version - and it worked)
So I went to this page Uninstall Flash Player | Windows and followed all of the instructions there, including number 3.3 a-d which told me to go to:
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player
and delete all the files inside the depicted folders. I encountered problems (couldn't delete some of the files because my user didn't have ownership on the folders), but I managed to do so (I assigned full control permissions to my user and then deleted all of the files).
Now I tried to install again the Flash Player Content Debugger but again I get the same message when I try to install it (the one in the picture that says that I already have the player).
I read this thread (A) Re: Reinstalling Flash after uninstall - Windows 8.1 Pro. According to it I shouldn't of deleted the files I just told you about (also here How do I do a clean install of Flash Player? it says that if I have windows 8 I'm not supposed to delete the files).
According to thread A the way to re-install Flash Player is by updating the internet explorer, but then I will end up with the the regular version of Flash Player again, which I do not need.
I need the Flash Player Content Debugger version, since I need it for developing flex content.
So the question is, how do I manage to install the Content Debugger version of Flash Player, on windows 8, after I already uninstalled the built-in Flash Player that came with internet explorer?
I would highly appreciate your help.
